How to Apply
How to Apply
We want you to create a successful application for Leonardo programme funding. It will help if you understand the overall Leonardo programme objectives, which you can read about below. You also then need to follow the instructions for each funding area.
Step 1. Understand the Leonardo programme objectives
Although you can apply directly to ECOTEC for most UK projects, you need to be aware that the programme is run by the European Commission as part of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). Each year they set out the LLP's aims, objectives and rules for applicants in the 'Call for Proposals' documents. It will help your funding application if you show you have considered these. As these can be quite complicated documents, we've selected the most relevant parts for you:
- Strategic Priorities for the LLP in 2010 - Read the Leonardo section to find out the priority themes for Leonardo projects and to help you place your ideas in a European context.
- LLP Guide 2010: Part I - General Provisions - Read this if you want to get an overview of the LLP including the financial rules and who does what.
- LLP Guide 2010: Part II 'Sub-programmes & Actions' - Read the Leonardo section, which details the Leonardo programme aims, who can participate and the types of activity funded.
- LLP Guide 2010: Part II - 'Explanations by Action' - Go to the page for the Leonardo funding area (known as 'action') you are interested in, i.e. Mobility, Partnerships, Transfer of Innovation.
Additionally, there are some UK National Priorities for Leonardo in 2010 that you can look at.
Step 2. Follow the instructions for the funding area you are applying to:
